01

Upload your chapter — or your whole book

Drop in your finished recording — WAV, MP3, FLAC, or AIFF. No account needed for a single free diagnostic, up to 120 minutes. Got the whole audiobook ready? Upload up to 50 chapters at once and check them all for free with a free account, no card required.

02

We run the pipeline

An AI enhancement pass removes clicks, pops, mouth noise, and hiss. Then mastering normalizes loudness, limits peaks, pads silence, and exports a compliant MP3 — measured before and after.

03

Download master + report

Get your ACX-compliant MP3 plus a full report showing every measured value, with a clear pass or fail on each spec.

Why this exists

Built by someone who does this professionally.

After more than 200,000 files, the pattern is hard to miss: most rejections aren't about performance. They're about specs. Loudness a few dB off. A noise floor just over the limit. A peak that triggers an auto-reject. Problems a specialist can spot in thirty seconds.

Indie narrators were paying engineers $700 to fix what amounts to a calibration problem. Greenlit automates the check — and the fix. Same standard the major studios use. A fraction of the cost. Results in minutes.

FAQ

Common questions.

Does Greenlit Audio remove mouth clicks, lip smacks, and pops?

Yes — mouth clicks, lip smacks, clicks, and pops are exactly what Greenlit Audio is built to clean up, and it's one of the biggest differences between Greenlit and simpler mastering tools. Every paid master runs a dedicated mouth de-click stage alongside an AI noise pass that reduces background noise before mastering to ACX spec. Mouth clicks are the kind of thing ACX's automated checks miss but a human reviewer catches by ear, so getting them out is often the difference between a pass and a rejection. You still want a clean take — it's not a substitute for good recording — but the minor artifacts that distract listeners get cleaned up automatically.

Will my file definitely pass ACX after processing?

Greenlit guarantees the measurable technical specs: chapter length, loudness, true peak, noise floor, sample rate, channel format, bit rate, and head and tail room tone. ACX also runs a human quality review — a real person listens for things like room echo, inconsistent tone, and manuscript accuracy. That's the part of this job I've done professionally for years across more than 200,000 files. The honest truth: no tool can fix a bad take. But if your recording is solid, Greenlit handles everything the automated system checks.

Does it work for platforms besides ACX?

Yes. The same technical spec that passes ACX — loudness targets, noise floor, sample rate, and format — is what Findaway, Google Play, Kobo, and Apple Books all require. Get your file right once and it's ready everywhere.

What is a credit and how is billing calculated?

Billing runs on whole-number credits — 60 credits = 1 hour of finished audio. Audiobook chapters bill at 3 credits per 3-minute floor (a 45-minute chapter is 45 credits); broadcast and agency spots bill at 1 credit per minute. Credits come in packs — Novella (900 credits · $89), Novel (1,800 credits · $159), or Omnibus (3,000 credits · $249) — and never expire, so leftover credits roll over to your next project. Auditioning or need just one file? The Audition pack is $12 for 30 credits ($0.40 / credit) — about five auditions, and the credits work on any file.

Do I need a subscription to check my file?

No. The diagnostic check — a full 9-point ACX report with actual measured values — is free, with no account required. You only pay when you want Greenlit to process and fix the file.

Can I upload a whole audiobook at once?

Yes. The Whole book tab on the upload page takes up to 50 chapters in one go. Every chapter gets the same free pass/fail check as a single file — no cost, before you decide anything — then one credit check and one click processes the whole book, with a single completion email and one zip download instead of handling each chapter separately. Uploading a whole book does need a free account (no card) to track progress across chapters; the single-file check stays fully anonymous.

Do I need a DAW to use Greenlit?

Not for mastering — that's what Greenlit replaces. You'll still need a way to record and edit your narration (fix mistakes, add credits). Once your edited recording is ready, Greenlit handles the mastering step.

Can I process files without uploading them anywhere?

Yes — that's Greenlit Studio, our desktop app for Mac and Windows. It runs the same cleanup and mastering engine locally, so your audio never leaves your machine — built for NDA work and high-volume studios. It also includes a VST3 plugin, so you can check and master right inside Reaper or Audacity. Unlimited processing from $25/mo, or own it outright for $199, with no credits involved. The app is free to download, and local spec checks are free too.
